PLUG (Pipeline Ultraisolation Group) delivers cutting-edge solutions for isolating active pipelines—safely, cleanly, and without compromise.

Our advanced inline isolation tools are engineered to seal off flow in live pipelines where valves may not be present, offering a smarter alternative to full-line nitrogen purging or hot tapping. Unlike hot tapping, our inline plugging pigs leave no permanent fittings behind—eliminating future corrosion risks and preserving pipeline integrity.

Looking for a single-source solution for pipeline isolation? Look no further.

At PLUG, we offer a turnkey service built around our powerful 24" inline isolation tool—designed for speed, precision, and adaptability.

✅ Tailored to your pipeline system.

✅ Fast deployment.

✅ Competitive pricing vs. traditional isolation methods and other inline tools.

We don’t just isolate—we deliver the entire project with end-to-end support:

🔹Inline Isolation
🔹Construction
🔹ILI Tool Integration
🔹Pumping Services
🔹Nitrogen Services
🔹Hydro Testing
🔹Tool Tracking
🔹Recompression Services

We also provide Emergency Pipeline Repair System (EPRS) solutions, enabling rapid response and restoration for critical infrastructure.

Whether you're planning a complex intervention or a routine upgrade, our team is ready to execute with efficiency, safety, and expertise—from first cut to final recompression.

How Our Plugging Tool Works

PLUG’s inline isolation tool is a modular system engineered for precision and reliability in live pipeline environments. It consists of three integrated components:

  • Plug Modules – create the physical seal.
  • Control Module – manages activation, monitoring and tracking.
  • Pigging Module – enables transport through the pipeline.

During operation, the tool is pigged down the line using normal product flow to a predetermined location. Once flow is stopped, the tool is located, and two-way, through-wall communication is established with the control module.

Upon command, the control module injects fluid into a piston housed within the working head. This piston compresses the tool, drawing the ends of the working head together. As the tool compresses:

  • Specialized grips travel up internal ramps and expand outward, anchoring securely to the pipe wall.
  • Continued compression forces the rubber packer element outward, forming a vapor-tight seal against the pipe interior.

Any differential pressure across the tool further compresses the assembly, enhancing both the seal integrity and the anchoring force.

This self-reinforcing design ensures the tool remains immovable—even during pressure spikes—delivering robust, fail-safe isolation in demanding conditions.
